JD 4020 hydraulic fluid leaks

My propane-burner 4020 and also propane-burner 3010 both have severe, but intermittent, hydraulic fluid leaking problems. I would like to find repair kits and/or tips on how to stop the leaks. My 4020 just recently started leaking in a steady stream from the bottom rock arm shaft, to the extent that I need to repair this before further operating it. I have buckets under it to capture the streaming oil, whether running or not. Both tractors have loaders attached, and the valves and cylinders also are leaking. Has anyone had experience with similar problems and how to obtain and apply repair kits?

You can get the bottom shaft and seals from
this sight,or Amazon. New bushings from
John Deere. Not over $120. Shaft is easy to
change. Jack up one wheel. Find a rod just
smaller than your new shaft. Take out the
set screws. There is a little hole in the
wheel casting that lines up well enough
with the lower shaft. No need to take off 3
point arms just a floor jack to hold cradle
up. It will pivot back far enough to get
bushings and seals out and in. 3 of us put
one in . In less than 30minutes.

Thanks for the tip; I ordered the parts and they came in yesterday. Thanks also VicS for your detailed outline. Hopefully mine will go as smoothly as yours.

I got a new shaft, bushings, and seals from Boling Machine. The new seals are .465 inch thick and the old ones are only .280 inch. Even without using the washer (.058 inch thick), the new seals stick out of the transmission housing about .090 inch on each side, and they are definitely bottomed out against the transmission housing lips. I got the drawbar wishbone started on both sides at the bottoms, but as I jack them up, it raises the entire tractor without the wishbone going high enough to align for the shaft to go into the transmission. I contacted Boling and they said they purposely make the seals wider than OEM, and no one else has had any problems with that. Any ideas on a next step?
