I use an old GM oil pressure switch from the 60's .Napa or any other real auto parts store will have them.

Oil pressure switch for a 1971 Chevy Vega works well. That is the ne I use if I want to d the oil pressure switch to turn on the excite circuit

Using an oil pressure switch to excite the alternator is used on diesels where you can set it up so oil pressure comes up and that in turn switches on and that turns on the excite circuit. BTDT

I used a Hobbs pressure switch, the one designed to turn on your hour meter. The are available on line, EBbay and other sites.

Thanks everyone. I ordered a brake light switch. That should work too. It has a 1/8 pipe thread.

It works good on a gas engine too as it won't back feed the ignition.

Never tried a brake light switch on an engine.

Keep an eye on it, not sure if the diaphragm is compatible with oil. It may start leaking or stop switching.

I tried a brake light switch once. It only lasted a a month or so, then quit.

Napa OP6624 is a short version and OP6616 is a long body both function the same
