John Deere D

I have a John Deere D tractor I'm working on and the clutch was engaged when they parked and now the clutch is stuck any advice with out dismantleing the whole clutch the motor doesn't run just yet thanks for any advice Howard

For most tractors the common methods require that it be running. For 2 cylinder Deeres, it doesn't need to be running since it takes only 20 min. to change a clutch.

remove clutch cover and loosen the three castle nuts that have cotter pins in them. back the nuts right off and belt it up to another tractor since you say its not running. then once free tighten up nuts to about 70 lbs of push till it snaps in. could take couple adjustments if it has rust on disc's.
