Well done Kcm MN Nuffield Universall tractor fitted with a Perkins P4 diesel engine
and carring a 1951 Warwickshire regestration number. The Nuffield tractor was first
introduced in 1948 with a T.V.O. engine then from 1950 they was offerd with a
Perkins diesel unti 1954 when the parent company BMC came out with their own 4cly
diesel engine. The Perkins engined tractors can eaisly be reconised because the air
cleaner is in front of the silencer. MJ

MJ, you mention this had the Perkins diesel in it. Don't know if you saw it, but there was a thread a couple days back about the emblem on the front of this tractor:

Several folks had mentioned that they'd only seen the emblem on tractors that had Perkins engines. I thought this would be a good choice because of that thread. Was a toss-up between this and a Lamborghini, but I'd already used the Lamborghini pic I had. *lol*

The badge signifies a Square Deal All Round and was fitted to the front of tractors
with a Perkins diesel engine. In the late fourties and early fifties fitting Perkins
diesels into tractors was big buiness. Fordson E27Ns and Nuffield Universalls were
fitted on the assembly lines also Perkins offerd engines as convertions as follows,
P3 3cyl engines for AC & C tractors IH W4 and Farmall H Ferguson T20 tractors
Perkins L4 engines were built as conversions for Fordson E27N and DKN tractors IH W6
and Farmall M and T6 tractors. MJ
