Loader scale/gauge question again

I looked into an actual scale and the one the local
dealer said they could order is close to 4 grand so
that's a no. The pressure gauge suggestion sounds
like a good idea too, just wondering how many psi
I'd need? 10 000? It's a 110 hp Kubota with an M41
loader

I would guess that a 0-5000 PSI gauge would be fine. I don?t know what the maximum PSI is on a Kubota. If it is 2000, then you could probably go with 0-3000 guage. Make sure it is Glycerin filled, and I would prefer one with a small orifice in the fitting. The larger the dial, the better. And don?t go cheap.

Might want to install a shutoff valve between the gauge and hydraulic line. That way the gauge is not being used when you do not need it. Gauges do wear out or leak. Keep gauge out side of a cab.

Your system would only be maybe 2800-3000 PSI max so that is all the bigger gauge you would need. Remember the tractor hydraulic pressure has to be greater than the needed pressure to lift the loader.

all good comments. your dealer or the internet should tell you the max pressure the tractor puts out. the larger the gauge, the better. it will take awhile to figure it out but i've been loaded at quarries for years, by loaders using this method. always go to a certain loader height to get a true consistant reading everytime.

May i add a little note. If you plumb a gauge use automotive grade brass fittings. Get them at a good NAPA. They will stand up much better. Also use real hydraulic fittings.

JD, while what you posted is certainly TRUE, on the other hand, in the real world, if the tractor is ever operated in rough terrain with a heavy load in the bucket, the gauge is gonna "see" surge pressures that are WAY above system pressure.
