Finish mower recommendation

Woods! I run a 72 inch, rear discharge behind my 34hp kubota hydrostatic drive, front wheel assist. Plenty of power, no scalping and smooth cutting. Purchased it new with the tractor in 2008, flawless tractor and mower, same blades and belt.

Bush Hog, Woods and Land Pride are all good finish/Grooming mowers. I believe Woods has the longest warranty by a year. They all have 18,000 fps+ blade tip speed and are well built. I now run a 84" Sitrex, it's ok but hard to get some parts for. I am replacing it in the fall with a Bush Hog HDTF 84". Google each brand and compare them.

Logan,

I use a 93 inch Caroni sold by Agri Supply, in North and South Carolina (agrisupply.com), behind a New Holland TC33D (33hp). The deck is formed and much lighter than a 72 inch Bush Hog that I used for about 14 years. I wanted a larger mower since I cut up to 15 acres about every 2 weeks in central MS. My ground is rough with crawfish mounds, etc. I dodge tree roots and scrap iron. The wheel forks stick out beyond the tires of the tractor and are easily bent when you catch the tree root or scrap iron at full speed in second gear and full hydro. Price was about half the other brands of the same size when I bought 4 years ago. They had a very good shipping arrangement which cost me about $150 from NC to MS. I would check this brand out and compare to the others. Other than the wheel forks, I have had very little in maintenance cost.

I sold Farm King/Buhler finish mowers for years. Good quality. Their are many good brands. Just buy the best you can afford. The cheaper brands will not hold up as well. That is not all bad either. A good friend buy the cheaper Caroni Brand. He just buys a new one every 3-4 years and sells the old one. His cost of ownership is darn low. LOL

Some features you will want. four gauges wheels or one on each corner. This is just about a must have. I really like rear discharge as you can trim on either side and you do not windrow the grass as much.

I have a 6ft King Cutter behind my 8N Ford. Have had it for 10 years. Will have to change the original blades at the end of this season. I cut about 3 acres. Had to change the ball links for the hitch and the drive belt once. Would definitely by another one.
