Two days in a row....

I got soaked! Yesterday wasn't so bad since I would not have finished the job, but today I was an hour away from finishing and taking everything home. I got hit twice today, used up all my dry clothes and decided to call it a day. 30 minutes from home, 4 days 30-45 miles away from home this week got old....Anyone else have a gray cloud over their head lately (not sure if it was me or the land owners LOL)??

We seem to get gray clouds most every day over here on the west side- but no rain. I think I need to plant some sage brush.

I get a lot of custom work about 45 miles from home it?s great
when it goes good not so great when it doesn?t

That is why tractors come with cabs, lol. Not so bad
this year , but last year , it rained a lot. I would cut
hay on days with chance of rain if the forecast was
for two sunny days later. One day I was wet and dry
twice, and then wet again at the end of the day,
open tractor. I was 30 miles from home, and had no
choice but to stay, as my wife was going to pick me
up after work.

I do some custom brush hogging too. I have been thinking seriously of upgrading my current open station tractor, which I really like, to one with a cab for that reason. Not to mention all the bugs, bees and everything else nature throws at you. It was nice to be sitting in my cab tractor yesterday when I got caught in a passing storm. Although if I didn't already have a tractor with a cab I probably wouldn't realize how nice it is to have one.

If you are mowing for hay that's one thing, but if you are just bush hogging to keep weeds and grasses down can't you just keep going? People around me mow in the rain often. Even the people who mow neighborhood lawns will often mow in the rain rather than get their schedule fouled up. Thunderstorms are a different deal too as no one likes lightning!

Cut hay yesterday. Finished the fields i was working on under Gray but clearing sky. Tractor quit on the way home. 3% chance of rain. It's raining right now. Supposed to stop but geez. I'm ready for something to go right.

I mowed for awhile in the rain, but when water starts running down your back and your jeans weigh a ton it gets miserable real fast...

I have another Bush Hog mounted on a cab tractor, but rarely get to use it as it is so slow around trees and in rocky fields. When it starts getting hot, I will mow with the open station in the mornings and the cab tractor in the afternoon...I may waste some time running from one job to another, but it sure is relaxing to climb in that cab when it is 90 degrees out.
