Poor cat setting out in the rain. Dad's d-4 has the same grill on it. must not be a lot newer. Just ht e Caterpillar name is straight, not looking like a caterpillar.

Every time I see something like this I wonder what kind of stories it could tell if it could talk.
Many a flood. Can remember when I was down in WV. Late 70s. Hurricane
went through and this valley was scowered. Bridges taken out, trailer
parks, homes and buildings, etc. What got me is how much farm
equipment you saw in the "fields" in the flood plain. Bailers,
tractors, wagons, even a combine. All of them were at least 1/2 buried
in the new field level. Where the river made a sharp left turn it
under cut and an entire mountain side went down. It took several weeks
before they got the road dug out. There was nothing left on the side
of that mountain but the underlying rock. Clean as a whistle.
