Farmall A or Super A

Cane Grinder

New User
Hello, I am new to the forum and I'm hoping to find out some information. I recently purchased a Farmall A (according to the serial number FAA 18xxx it is a 1940) but it has hydraulics, and the engine code is marked 5 19 Z, which tells me it has a 1954 engine. It also has another serial number plate on the left side of the clutch housing that reads 4706 J. What does that mean? And what kind of "hybrid tractor do I have?? It runs great, and has been conveyto 12 volt. Any comments or clarification would be much appreciated! It also has the super A stickers. (Which anyone could have placed on it!! ) Thanks!

I'm afraid I can't be of much help with your questions, but welcome

you'll find the Farmall forum and will get more specific replies there.

I have a Farmall BN with a Super A engine in it, so I can tell you
for sure that parts do get swapped around between the models.
Keeps 'em running and really doesn't hurt the value much unless
you're looking for a 100% original show piece.
