outsourced tractor models (IH,JD, AC, Ford, etc)

What is the parts availibility on these "little" tractors? The AC 50xx, the Ford 12xx-19xx? The IH 2xx or the Yanmar built Deeres. I missed a few I'm sure And are some better then others or did they universaly abandon them after the left the dealer lots? I often see the Fords and ACs selling cheap on the internet.

I have in my shop Cub Cadet compact tractor that has PTO problems. I can get the parts for it but finding a manual for it is another thing. I have the IH shop manual but it leaves out so much that it is almost no help.

I've tried a couple of places trying to find a manual like the I-T ones but no one seem to have them including this site

The Yanmar built JDs are not too hard to get parts for as long as your not talking about complete axle housing or something like that. Kubota is not bad to find parts for either. It seems like the IH and Fords are the worse ones from a major manufactures. Many of the small company ones are hard: Satoh, Foton, Iseki, and etc., are tough to get even smaller parts for. Some newer brands are nore easy either: Montana, Farm Trac, LS, just to name a few.

Just watch out as you can easily get some thing that is non repairable. Orange and green sell higher because you can get parts for the most part.

My Kubota dealer told me that Kubota will supply any part for any tractor they have ever made. However, you may not like the price.

I have a JD 850 which has the Yanmar 3 cylinder diesel. The only parts I have ever bought for this rugged tractor is two new batteries (first lasted 18 years), and a inline fuse for the starter. The Yanmar's are light weight tractors which when used properly will last forever. I suspect parts are fairly easy to buy at the JD dealership.

Ford kept the rights to the little ford tractor parts they can be
hard sometimes to get parts good little tractors though

I have a few Bolens 242 (Iseki) no parts support bought it for $650 have run it for 10 years no problems except lower radiator hose cost me $75,Massey Ferguson 220 same as an
AC 5030 (Hinomoto)very few parts around great little tractor I took the 4WD front end off and put a 2WD front off a AC 5020 bought it for $500 because the PO couldn't find front end parts.Own several Fiat built tractors (Oliver,AC,Long) most are no problem to find parts for.You just have to buy them cheap take care of them and hope for the best.

I have a 750 that all it's ever needed was batteries and services. It mowed alot of grass and augered alot of corn in its younger days.( been replaced by a zero turn and the augers requires alot more horsepower) These days the tiller stays hooked to it.

Don't brag up orange to much. Dad bought a compact with a belly mower and in a month the gear box went out and yes it had oil in it. Took 3 months to get a new one. The worst part was they would not give him anything else to use. I went to deere after a few weeks of mowing his grass ( like 5 acres) with my F725 and bought a 930 zero turn. Least they guarantee for the first 3 years they will provide a loaner if they can not fix it in a couple days.

4520bw What your describing is the differences in dealerships not Companies. JD does not pay for a dealership "loaners". So the JD dealership is doing it on their dime. The Kubota dealership just did not step up. The Kubota dealerships around here would have.

I agree the dealership should of done more but why did it take Kubota 3 months to get the gear box to them.No reason a mower should be down so long when it only had 6 hours on it. The only other business we do there is a few Kenzie parts so they may be why they did not care about our business. As for the green mower Deere guarantees all their Ztrack commercial mowers with free loaners.

Perhaps it was a 'grey market' Kubota, a Japanese model not officially approved for import into USA?
