This is the third update on the injection pump on the 1655 Oliver. Turns out there aren't many shops that rebuild/repair these pumps so it cost just over $1000. It was that or replace the tractor or maybe a bigger project and repower the tractor with a Cummins. Picked it up Friday and had it installed by early afternoon Saturday. The dish soap worked great when it was time to slide the pump back on the shaft. Then after everything was hooked up and I'm doing the final check noticed the throttle rod was close enough to the positive cable from the battery at the starter in the wide open position that vibration would make for contact. SO loosen the nut on the solenoid and rotated the cable which improved the clearance. Tightened it just a little too much and the bacalite cover the bolt was attached to cracked off. Fortunately The solenoid is still available from NAPA for $45. So it'll be running this weekend.
