Saw this in abandoned town, Durkee, Oregon, Met a local last night and ask him about the JD. He said it's been sitting there for a few years. He knew who owned it but said it wouldn't start one day so they just let it sit there.

What a heart-wrenching story!!

Heh, whatcha think the chances are you pop a fresh battery in there and it starts right up?? *lol*

That is a 4010 or a 4020 diesel. It also has a 48 loader with the universal frame which is rare. It attaches to the side frame and goes back under the axles. Most often they are found on two cylinder tractors. Looks like three or four pair of wheel weights on the back as well. Sad to see that just parked and forgotten about. Tom

And it might sit another 20 years because they won?t sell it when the old folks finally pass it?ll be a mad dash to get it sold for scrap to clean the place up and sell it as well

And me it would have been to scrap at least 40 years ago. You could not give me one if I had to use it.

I'd sure as heck take it!

I had a 4010 gas. As I'm not a mechanic, had troubles with the fuel pump but I couldn't seem to figure it out on my own. This was long before I found YT. Anyway, was a well-made tractor, and worked GREAT when it [i:b0adb399a0]was [/i:b0adb399a0]running.

Yes because it makes a lot more sense to have weak hydraulics and and a center hump with a shift lever between your legs and poor brakes . But again if we all liked the same things we would be robots wouldn?t we ?
