Question for Dean or Country music fans

I remember Skeeter, besides her hit ?End of the World? she did another song that I enjoy hearing, ?I can?t stay mad at you?

For some reason, her hairdo sticks out in my mind from watching her as a kid.It was in the same vein as all the women singers of the era,but for some reason hers is the one I always picture in my mind.

Larry, you need to tune into RFDTV and watch "Country Family Reunion" hosted by Bill Anderson.
it is just ending now, but always a great show with all the past country stars live and in person today in real life, singing their past hits.

I have watched YouTube videos of those family reunion shows, and they are good, but ohh man , are some of those stars showing the heavy hand of time. Of coarse the shows I see are old, and fellas like Porter Wagner were still among the living. I like that style of country music far more than the ? new country ?

Sure do. Every Sunday morning our local radio station plays her version of One Tin Soldier. The song must just be on a prearranged loop/playlist but I always enjoy it.

I do remember Skeeter Davis, Larry, and I love her great hit The End Of The World, linked by another poster below.

It's so sad what has happened to country music.

Of course, the young folks no doubt love modern "country music" and consider us old fuddy duddys.

I saw that show, Coshoo.

What a wonderful rendition.

IIRC, Kathy Young was 13 or 14 when she originally recorded A Thousand Stars.

Below, Larry, is a link to another song from the same era about the same theme, young heartbreak.

All of you will know this one by the great Patsy Cline.

I have an old laptop computer in my shop that I use as a radio, no static. About 3 pm after all the talk radio programs are finished, I change over to you tube, with the stars from my era to listen to. Skeeter Davis is on most afternoons.
