JD212 question

My JD 212 with a 12hp Koehler engine is a hard starter. Has to wind and wind before it ever even hits. New fuel pump, points, plugs. Anyone else have this problem?

Is the choke closing fully?

Any evidence of fuel leaking out of the carb bowl, as in having to pump fuel to refill the bowl after it's stored for a few days?

Also check for weak spark. If the coil has any age cracks in the plastic, it may be grounding internally, needs replacing.

Sure your choke is closing tight??. I got 2 old Koehlers that start as soon as they roll over, one of them is 35 years old, been run hard, adjust the valves once, a couple of tune ups and a bunch of oil changes and ya can't kill it.
