Hang some really fine screening over the window

I had one do that for two summers and he was always going after the mirrors on my car and trucks. I had to put black bags over mirrors. Something must of happen to him he never showed up third summer.

Had one doing that a few years ago.

I tacked a small mirror to a poll, with a place for him to perch and he was happy with his own mirror...!

(quoted from post at 18:45:47 05/19/18) i had robins that did that, after 2 days a 12 gauge stopped it.

That is pure meanness....song birds are to be treasured, not blown into smithereens. Also is illegal. There are better ways to deal with that.

I suspect he's seeing his reflection, sees another male in his territory.

Maybe a screen, or tape a white trash bag over the window. That would let in light but block the reflection.

He IS seeing his reflection. I had one on a truck of mine and he would sit on the window sill on the drivers side and fight with the bird in the left outside mirror. I feed them and they are very dominating like Hummingbirds. Spend more time fighting than eating.

The other thing about your condition is that he KNOWS where that other bird is and he deliberately goes back to where he saw him so that he can fight him.

Someone had birds in their barn and said to hang some string because they didnt like flying into something they couldnt see.
