The tightener/idle is on the wrong side,as it always needs to be on the return side not the power side.

We had a thing that went directly on the belt pulley to wind up electric fence wire after grazing wheat. Iíve wished I still had one more than once.

Isn't that the winch they used for winding up old barbed wire? My dad had one many moons ago. Looked a whole lot like that one.

Looks like a remote PTO. Drove something with a V belt.
