Yes it turns good but no fire. The oil pump was working before shut it
off- but there was a lot of oil/ water mixed in pan when I drained.
I had head/ injectors/ radiator restored- torqued heads and injectors
by manual. Could there be trash in fuel line?
 
Were all did you BLEED AIR out of the FUEL SYSTEM?

EG...At Fuel Filters,at Main Fuel Pump, at fuel Injectors?

No prob. I'm old here and still don't know what I'm doing. Lots of smart guys on here. They will get straightened out.
 
First of all you probably do not need the engine to start & RUN with no oil pressure, as much as you have cranked it over you should have seen oil pressure. Nothing in the lack of oil pressure keeping the engine from running . For you post use the term cranking to indicate you are turning the engine over. Then use the term running when it starts to run. I suspect first thing is to bleed the injectors buy loosing the nut where the fuel injector line attaches to the top of the injector. Make sure you have fuel and smoke then we may have to address how you set your valves.
 
Loosen them at the injectors and crank the engine over until all you have shooting out around the nut in fuel and no air or air sounds.
 
being you said your tractor has a Perkins diesel I'm going to assume it's a m.f.,first MAKE sure the valves are set right or you can bend a push rod,valve or damage a piston, assuming you didn't remove the injector pump and it was running before, air is locked in the system causing the no start problem, again if it was running before head repair I going to skip a couple steps with the fuel, first look on top of the first filter housing where the line from the tank is connected there is what looks like a 9/16 nut sitting there holding nothing loosen it up several turns you should see a slot in the bolt for bleeding depending on how the tractor is plumbed fuel should free flow if it doesn't go thru the lift pump first, if so then operate the lift pump hand lever, you may have to turn the engine a little to allow the hand lever to operate the pump, or let it free flow which ever applies until air free fuel comes out, tighten bolt back, being it is a 1973 it should have a secondary filter if so there is small metal line attached to the top of the filter housing with a bango bolt that has a small hole in the side of it for bleeding off air remove it make sure it's not stopped up while removed then operate the lift pump handle until air free fuel comes out reinstall the bolt then operate the pump handle a few more times to pressurize the filters(don't loose the metal washers for the bango housing) or it will leak, next loosen the bleeder screw on the body of the injector pump it has a 5/16 nut, operate the hand pump until AIR FREE FUEL SPRAYS OUT then tighten the bleeder screw ,on the top outside of the injection pump there is another bleeder screw bleed it the same way, once you get the pump bled loosen the pressure lines on each injector place the throttle at half fuel make sure the shut off is in the on position and operational, try starting engine after a few turns you should see fuel coming from one or more of the injector lines, tighten them, being ready to shut the engine in case it starts with the rest of the lines loose try starting again, in a few turns another line will start leaking tighten it, if didn't already try to start it will now when you try it again BE READY to shut the engine off because YOU DON'T WANT TO COME IN CONTACT WITH THE FUEL SPRAYING FROM THE LOOSE INJECTOR LINE IT CAN BE PRESSURIZED TO 2500#PSI AND IT COULD CAUSE A SERIOUS INJURY IF YOU WERE HIT BY IT,try starting again,ONCE IT STARTS (IMMEDATELY SHUT IT OFF) then and only then tighten the remaining injector line.
 
When adjusting valve tappett - how do I know I?m doing it right? Does the gauge slide freely BUT touching? Should you just be able to slide the gauge under the tappett with a little force? Just need to know I?m using right setting determination? Should it be tight or slide freely but touching??
