The original subject was "Old tractors....".

hey guys im am new to this site and want to say thanks in advance for the help. i had a family member pass away my great grandma was a month away from being 103 the family is having to clean up the old farm and its been pretty overwhelming we have an old allis chalmers i believe its a grain drill but im not positive and don't know what year it is. it is old and in really good condition its clean inside the hoppers nothing is froze up and has been out of the weather over the years im not sure if everything is their it does look like its complete. i am trying to find it a new home but have no idea where to start not sure what to ask for a price or who to contact to try and sell i would hate to see it end up at the recycling yard but nobody in the family has room and or the use for it any more. i hope im not high jacking this post but i thought/hoping someone here can at least point me in the right direction i live out side portland oregon some of the pic didn't turn out too well but i hope it will be enough if you want to call or email ide be more than happy to talk thanks again TJ

Welcome to the site! It is an Allis Chalmers seed drill with grass seed attachment. Not much commercial value, but it does have some collector value given its condition.....maybe a couple hundred bucks?
Ben

Were those made by Oliver for them. It looks so much like an old Oliver superior we had. right down to the steel wheels. Ours was on rubber tires, the parts drill had steel.

I would post this on the allis chalmers board, there are enough collectors etc on that site you can get a fair estimate.

That is a rarity as I have never heard of Allis Chalmers making a drill that was tractor mounted. Olivers of that style and vintage sell for in range of $600 for use. Would be in the 30's to 40's range for age. But that is a collector item only. You do not say what state you are in or for anybody how to contact you.

sorry im kinda fighting tis web page wasn't sure if the pictures went up lol i do agree with it going to a museum or collecter and that is where i thought it was going to go but idk what happened i just know it got dropped in my lap to figure something out with a week or two to do it i live outside portland oregon thanks again for all info and effect

Would guess that drill to be rare in number especially in that good condition, front box appears for grass seeding, large box for small grain (wheat, rye) seeding. Age range might be in 1930-1935 area. More of a collector item than anything

You need to read the whole message. It says "outside Portland, Oregon" and the [Send Email] is highlighted.

AC made a Snap-Coupler mounted drill for the WD45. It was about 7 feet wide, and driven by chain from the rear tractor wheel. The drill in this post is pull type.

I want to thank you all I have found a buyer for it its new home is going to be in Illinois my family is really grateful that is going to go to a good home

It does not show when you are in the reply mode, only in orignal post mode. And you go back from reply to orignal you have lost all you have typed. Haden't realized I would be looking for that untill after I was writing my reply.

Typo there. It was supposed to be not tractor mounted. All I had heard of was the one designed for the CA and the one designed for the WD. Never knew the made a pull type.

hey guys I have some more goodies I'm sorry if this is not where I'm not supposed to post here but I've got a bunch of old catalogs /magazines/ manuals? And their is a sickal and maybe a second blade for it please let me know if these are worth my time trying to find them a new home or just recycle I have no idea what year or the maker I did see any numbers or name
