My youngest son is seven. I took my family out to
dinner today, and the restaurant had a kids eat
free offer. The only meal on the kids menu was
chicken fingers and fries. Never mind the fact
that he would eat that every day of the week if he
could, he was upset that he didn't get any
choices. I told him that he was getting that,
because he likes it, and it's free. I told him
that someday, he would be a grown-up and he could
pick then. He looked me straight in the eye and
said "some day, you will be an old man and I will
get to pick for you." Smart kid.
