Machine Shed Quonset

Is an old 50'x 50 Quonset building worth anything? We have one back on the family farm that's not being used. It has a big door at each end wide enough to get a 4 row IH planter thru it. The doors can be made wider if needed. We will probably hire some one with a track-hoe to tear it down but I hate to see that when it could still be used by some one. The arched trusses are currently set at 24" or 36" spacing and every other one can be eliminated and the building made twice as long if wanted.

I'd imagine to the right buyer, if priced right, given the labor and trucking to take down and haul, it would be worth more than what it costs to demo and haul to the salvage yard.
As much as I'd prefer a different style of building, if priced low enough, I'd consider it, given I have no outbuildings to speak of at this time, dry space is a premium around here. Main tractor is in the garage at least as is anything else that should be under a roof that fits in. Has to be someone locally in the same situation, low cost solution, labor intensive, but worth it.

The Mennonites would take it down around here, but I don't know how things are where you live.

Your probably to far away for me to come take it down
I could use another round bale hay barn
I could get around 280 rolls in a building that size
That would get all of my hay under roof and no more trapping.

I'm interested if your close enough.

Can you post a photo of it, I don't understand the arched trusses part

someone some place could use it. I know of a contractor in the area that is in process of taking one down. He apparently already has it sold and has to reassemble it someplace else from my understanding.

After WWII Those things popped up all over the place as surplus. Don't mess it up please. Advertise it some body will want it.
