Finally got warm enough to work on my 1030 some more. I got this rear end that was suposed to be all rebuilt. In the short time I ran it it developed an oil leak out the rear end. Today I got to look at it and found this. The housing was cracked and repaired and is not cracked now, it just leaks through a pin hole in the weld. They had smeared what looks like jb weld on it to seal it and that held for at least the 20 years it sat til I started using it. Do you think some Redcote inside will work to seal it? Or other recommendations. I can pull the axle housing and re-weld it if necessary, but I don't think strength is an issue, only leaking. I posted this on the case forum too.
