I usually go to the Timken online catalogs. Look for bearing or seal interchange or cross reference. SKF, too. Once you find the number search on locateballbearings.com for price. Usually the best prices I've seen.

My how things have changed. Back when we had a real Deere dealer here, they had a cross over book laying right on the parts counter.

I'm sure that's what he told you. I have come across some things that are proprietary to Deere but bearings and seals? Nah. Only problem on the older stuff is they uaed mostly Hyatt-New Departure and a few Trotsell. Both long gone but there are equivalents out there.

Most oems spec an odd size bearing you might not be able to cross the number but you should be able to find it buy the spec. I needed a u joint for my John Deere sickle mower napa was 2$ more than John Deere and the napa one was just a little wider but I made it work

I cross over a lot of bearings to Deere numbers on their website because Deere is usually cheaper and can get them faster. Just bought 2 for the rolling basket on my landsman, Deere was a lot cheaper then Napa and a heck of a lot cheaper than the Krause dealer.

Randy your correct!!! I personally sold a lot of JD bearings to non JD customers. Most times the JD cost was less than they could buy a quality bearing else where. One of the most common fellows where running MF combines. Long before AGCO MF combine bearing where high priced.

Yep,the Deere dealer used to be a one stop place for everything. Bearings, belts, chain, hoses, you name it. Those were the good old days.

Try Seiko, the watch guys. They have a bearing factory in China and make bearings under the Seiko brand. As fine a product as you ever had in your hand. I use their bearings on my JD round baler and they work just fine.

(quoted from post at 20:56:31 04/09/18) This one has worked for me pretty well
