My speedometer and fuel gauge quit working on my 95 chevy 2500.do any of you know where I can send it to be rebuilt.as far as I know there's no one close to me that does it here in south central La.

Auto buy-sell-trade magazines have ads for instrument clusters, usually at the back.

rrman,

I used circuit board medics and was completely satisfied. I did not even have to go to the dealership for any odometer refresh expense.

If it is just the speed check the transmission sensor first. My 92 the speed was all over the place and the shifting was not good. Turned out to be the sensor was loose or not making good connection on the transmission.

There is an ad in our Mich Auto Trader by a guy from Wisc listing www.speedometerrepairguy.com. I know nothing about him, just saw the ad.

I send mine to NSI they turn it around in a day for me... I sent one off this week $213... Sometimes I order one from Advance auto give them the info when it comes in its plug and play they offer a lifetime warranty cost in the $275 range.

The first diagnostics is to hook up a scanner with bidirectional controls and do a sweep test on the gauges if a no go a stepper motor is normally the problem. The scanner should be able to tell you the percentage of fuel in the tank and the speedometer reading I have been bit and had to dig deeper for the problem because I jumped the gun on the stepper motor issue. On the later chebbys its a sure bet that its a stepper motor but not on earlier chebbys :(.. I have also seen the stepper motor and the fuel gauge be bad at the same time diagnostic are straight forward on the fuel gauge once you have the cluster out...

I think the one you are talking about does only GM instrument clusters and is out of Onalaska, Wi. and phone number is 608-304-0155.

about two years ago the radio in my 92,chev. p.up quit working . was working when truck was shut off at night. Will now display only one time {1:00} and one station w/no sound but volume scans across half way. All fuses are good. Do miss that radio.
