Hard to start !

I have a Massey Ferguson 65 Diesel 4 cyl.
Almost everyday I have to bleed the 1st or 2nd fuel line going into the injector to start it.
Its not so much bleeding it as it is disconnect it and crank. It usually starts and I screw the line back on.
I have new fuel filters and fresh diesel. Air filter canister has been cleaned.
What could be causing this?

On most Perkins the final filter has a constant bleed orifice fitting on top of the base. It's there to remove any trapped air before air can get into the injection pump inlet, which will cause no start or shut down when the orifice gets plugged. Usually it's a banjo bolt, but some are a straight fitting, either will have a small bleed line to the injector top leak off line that goes back to the tank. Make sure it's open. Also make sure if you have NAPA/WIX filters the common mistake of putting an extra O ring in the filter top outer groove was not done. That's the fuel inlet, and must be open.
