OT- NH 7090 bale weight...7310 loader enough?

I?m going to look at some of last years Hay, 5x6 rolls out of a br7090. Any idea the weight of these rolls? Mixed grass, string tie, stored outside. I?ve got 2 loader tractors, Ford 4830 with a lighter BushHog 2400qt loader on it, and a Ford 4600 with a 7310 loader. They both handle my 800lb rolls easy, but not for sure on these big 5x6?s. Any suggestions? Thanks

Impossible to judge from here, many variables during baling and weathering can make the same size bale 500 pounds or 2000 pounds.

Well my 5x6 bales of grass hay usually weight around 1400-1500 with mesh wrap. So I would say they could easily weight 1300-1400. It all depends on how tight they are and the quality of the hay. I know I can make 800-900 lbs. straw bales. So I think these bales will be heavier than your are.

As for what loader would work. I think the Bushog 2400 would be pretty light for them. I do not know the rating on the 7310.

Utilizing a good counterweight on the 3 pt hitch I think both tractors will handle the 5X6 rd bales. I agree that there are too many variables to accurately guess the weight of the bales.

Depending on the quality of the hay those bales could weigh 1000-1300 lbs.
The Ford 7310 looks to be a little heavier built than the BH2400 but ether loader should be able to handle those bales.
The BH2400 looks very similar to my Farm Hand 22 and my cousin has one that he uses to move his 5x5 bales with. I would think fresh baled 5x5's would weigh as much as old 5x6 bales that have been setting out.
You need one speared on the back for counter weight and with the 4830's slightly longer wheel base I'd think it would handle the bales a little better but I don't know much about a 4830.

with my 7310 loaders.... and newer JD balers with 5x6 bales... when they are fresh out of the baler,,, the loader squeals the relief valve and barely barely picks them up, very slowly... after couple of weeks, less squealing, still a little trouble... come winter feeding, no problems. And yes the hay is properly baled... coastal hay. Using 6600 and 7710 ford tractors if that makes a difference.

I ran 3 different 7310 loaders on 3 different tractors, all 62 to 82 PTO HP. Used an NH QA spear.

Lifted 4x5 silage bales easy enough.

I'm thinking loader is up to it, 50 HP 2wd tractor might not like them as much.
