Barbara Bush gone at 92

On our trips we include tours of presidential museums...there are 14 of them, we"ve toured 10, including both Bush"s. Interesting to see how each prez views his time in office. With Prez George and Barbara, the main emphasis was on family. Truly she was a class act.
 

Knew some Marines that served on the Presidential detail while she was there. Every one of them attested to her being a fine lady, the type that took the time to get to know them a bit and to send cards or letters to their families during hard times, etc. One guy said it was like having an aunt or grandmother around. Never herd a single bad word from any of them on any of the family.
 
May she rest in peace. A wonderful first lady who had a good faithful husband and raised two great sons.

I've read all I care to read about the Clinton Crime Family, lots of unindicted criminals roaming free from that bunch. The Bush's were at least a class act, Barbara was the best of that family. May she rest in peace.
 
Regan was about the last decent pres. Clinton and external_link have set records that make Bush look sophomoric. I suspect nnalert never thought he would wind up as Pres or he might have behaved a bit differently before getting elected. Then again, Kennedy got the presidency and found the back door for MM and others.
 
Was just talking about her on the radio. Did you know she lost a daughter to leukemia? They donated the child’s body for medical research. She also was very active in helping people with literacy issues. And she was an activist for people who were suffering from aids in the 80’s, back when it was believed that you could catch it with contact. She was holding children suffering from the disease while the scare was at its peak. Incredibly brave woman who seemed to try to show others how to live right.
