yesterday, I saw a ford 2000 in junk pile it had a extra transmission (looked like ) between motor and rear end had a set of cylinders out lets under seat and a front mounted blade seamed to be extra long frame on it maybe because of extra transmission ?? anyone know what i saw??? do i need to go back and take better look???? THANKS BE

You don't say if it was the older 4 cylinder 2000 or the newer 3 cyl one.
If it was the 3 cyl model it might be like the one that was sold at auction recently.
It was a trencher built on a ford chassis and had an extra transmission behind the main transmission which slowed down the tractor but not the pto.
See link.
Otherwise, both model 2000s could have been purchased with an extra transmission in front of the main transmission which usually gave the tractor 3 ranges of gears - overdrive, direct and underdrive. Just like the old Sherman trans which were available from the N Series onward. Those were only available for the tractors with 4 speed transmissions.

They made a creeper drive for the 3 cylinder 8 spd trans as well, it's a little slower than I need, I believe 4th gear creeper equaled .7 mph but there's been times I could of used one working inside my poultry barns, if that 2000 has a 8 spd trans I could be interested.

THANKs i am going back and look at that 2000 ford again and take some pictures i believe there was a name on top of that add on transmission it is in by brother fence row were he has a lot of old equipment i know it was a gas engine 4 or 3 cylinder I dont know
