A guy offered me two unopened pails of the stuff for free.
I was given a 2 gal jug of 30w ND a few years ago and use it in my oil bath air filter.
But 10 gals would last me forever that way.
What if I burned it in my diesel - not in the oil pan but the tank.?
Say a gallon per tankful.
Shouldn't hurt anything should it?
What else could a guy use it for?
Thanks

ND oil is the recommended type of oil to be used in engines that do not have an oil filter--I don't see where it would do major harm in diesel fuel--would probable just deposit more ash in the cylinders--I myself use 2 stoke oil in my diesel fuel

It's really only good for air compressors.I ordered a drum of 15-40 a few years ago, after they dropped it in my garage I saw it was marked 30 WT non-detergent.I called them, their first concern was if I had used any.I told them no,I hadn't even cracked the seals.I told them I would either leave the barrel out for them,or I would load it with the Bobcat. They asked me if I had a waste oil furnace. They would take it back, but only if they had to.I gave a few gallons away for guys air compressors, but wound up pumping most into the waste oil furnace.

it is the oil recommended for Cat pony engines and also some older Cat gear boxes such as the transmission and final drives

use it in the hydraulics of them old tractors. better than burning it and carboning up the engine.

Chainsaw bar oil? Also the transmissions in Oliver HG crawlers and a few others like Terratrac and Case with wet steering brakes. 30W non-detergent motor oil is basically the same thing as 80W-90W GL-1 gear oil.

I?d use it for chainsaw bar oil too. Any kind of oil is fine for that. Lately I have been using the cheapest hydraulic oil I can find, like the $19.95 for 5 gallons at tractor supply kind of oil. Never an issue with the oilers on the saws.

A modern 30 weight non detergent would work just find in a transmission, final drive, or hydraulic system. The main thing is that whatever it's used in not require a limited slip additive, if used in a transmission, final drive, etc.

That is what I use for break in oil on all of my gasoline engine rebuilds. Straight 30w and a bottle of Lucas Break in additive. Been using it for years and always have had great results.

I use 30 w non detergent oil as an additive in diesel fuel for engines with rotary injection pumps. Oil is fuel to a Diesel engine.

How about those wet brakes and wet clutches ?

I wouldn't pass it up, being non detergent I don't see an issue adding some to the fuel system but at a lower rate like maybe 1-2 qrt's per tank in your Fords 12-15 gallon tanks, would also be good to lube chains and cutter bars on implements.
If you where closer I'd trade you some grease for the oil, I've got lots of grease.

Anyone near enough that want's some bulk grease let me know, I've got 5 gallon pails, 120 lb drums and 55 gallon barrels of the stuff, Schaeffer, Mobil, off brands, ect.

pretty useless for chian oil. unless your just doing light cutting. for heavy cutting you need chain saw bar oil that sticks to the chain. engine oil just flys off and you burn the bar.

Chain saw bar oil; air cooled engine oil; squirt gun oil; air cleaner oil. NOT a diesel fuel ADDITIVE,

GUIDO.

I ended up with four unopened 15 gallon drums of 20WT ND oil for free. I started using it in the hydraulics of the 630 Deere back when it saw every day loader work. Sometime after I started using it I had the hydraulic system on the back of the tractor apart, maybe for replacing the three point piston seals, I forget exactly why. Anyway, inside the case was a thick layer of sludge so I quit using the stuff. I know it is approved for those old hydraulic systems but I didn’t like the looks of that sludge in my tractor. This hydraulic system was used and warmed up good every day and oil was added fairly regularly because of leaky loader seals so I doubt if this was caused by condensation.
