O T Dodge truck tie rods. Sorry kind of long

Just bought a 2007 Dodge 2500 4wd. Took a short trip and hit a rough patch of road and it went into "death wobble". This happened two different times and bent the drag link. My steering linkage has a tierod that runs from wheel to wheel, and the drag link goes from pitman arm to a point about 8" in from right tie rod end. The steering damper is connected to the tie rod at a tapered hole. My problem is that parts store has no listing for this configuration. Has Dodge changed the way steering is set up? The parts book shows pitman arm to right steering knuckle and left tie rod connected to drag link with steering damper attached to left tie rod with a bracket. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Google Thoroughbred Diesel, Dodge steering brace. I had one on the 2004 3500 4X4, makes the steering MUCH tighter. The steering arm nut is replaced, then a cross bracket fits over the special nut to each frame side. Then a flanged bearing is installed over the nut. May not be all your problem, but that brace will make the truck drive a lot better than stock. Mine was better than some cars I've had..

It is possible that someone installed the steering link system from a newer truck to try to correct problems. I know for a fact that this has been done on various generations of Dodge trucks. Maybe see if you can find another truck the same year and compare the steering links. If someone on this forum has a truck with that kind of swap done maybe they will let you know.

There?s a y setup and a t setup . I have never had one go into death wobble ever once and I?ve owned 5 different 2500 and 3500 dodges with miles up to 400,000 I know that doesn?t help you any .

There are a ton of places on ebay that sell kits with all the parts to do the complete front end and they're priced cheap. I got an entire set for my 2000 Dodge 2500 for around $125 bucks. Kits range in price from complete kits to partial kits. Lots of stuff available.

I had a recall on tie rod ends etc. on my 2008 Dodge 2500. You might check to see if yours has a recall and has been updated.

Third gens don?t have same track bar as the early trucks did . The Luke?s link won?t work on that new Of truck . But the Luke?s link does work on the early trucks
