hi there, perhaps some knowledgeable people could shed some light as to why my 4 wheel drive stopped working, or perhaps i should be more specific and say my 2 front wheels aernt driving, the tractor is a SAME EXPLORER 90
no grinding or funny noises fluid levels are all were theyre supposed to be, just no engagement of fronts when i engage linkage, any thoughts would be appreciated... thanks

drop the drive shield and check the bolts that attach the drive shaft coupler to the differental input coupler there are 4 of them the bolts sometimes fall out. you have to jack up one front wheel to get the bolts back in and get things lined up. use a little blue locktight to get them to stay put.

If that doesn't solve the problem check to see if you have a coupler stripped along the drive line. Had that happen to a kubota, cheap easy fix

thanks for your reply, a backed out bolt may explain a clanking i had heard during feild to feild travel later in the season just prior to the 4wd going kaput. the clanking sounded 'cyclical' to a drive shaft rotation
