Can anyone tell me what the total capacity is of the rear end, hydraulic pump, and transmission is. Time to do a drain and flush. Thanks for your help. John

Best answer IMHO is Bruce VA?s tip #4. To add just the right amount of hydraulic fluid, remove the bottom bolt from the inspection plate; unless you just cleaned out the sludge in the pump base, it will only take about 4 3/4 gallons (not 5) of the hydraulic oil. When the oil leaks out of the bolt hole, it has enough in it. If you have old, worn seals, any more fluid will leak past the seals and onto the brakes.

Might want to check out the Ford N section

The guys have you covered here John.
Sludge and lack of complete drainage makes it a bit under 5 gallons.

Drain the three drains from rear to fore to keep from getting as
dirty. The rear end is a 1/2 inch pipe plug, the others are bungs.
