such carts and trailers were available during the 1950's for various garden tractors. I oftentimes wondered how they would be controlled if traction was lost one wheel and the handles would swing to the side, Cracked ribs?

That is the super high trim package. Audi Quattro? As for the
trailer, my grand father had a Simplicity two wheeler with the rider
cart. I have that cart. Stamp steel seat, the tounge has foot pegs,
and it even has a foot brake. You had to lean forward to grab the
handle bars. Gravely also had that kind of set up. The hitch has a
limit bar on top of the hitch to prevent things crashing up or down.

The tread width normally a lot less than shown here, the handle bars are long so controlling it was relatively easy. Some of these rigs also had driven trailer axle, essentially making it an articulated ?tractor?.

ack in the 50s people were a lot stronger and tougher than they are now.

I was stationed in Greece during the late 80's near the village of Kato Achia, we called those "Kato Cadillacs" would see local farmers with the entire family going to town on them on market day. It's also the
first and only place I've seen a family of 5 going to town on a Moped. Of course the one the Greeks had didn't have the fancy grill!
