Nice day today in Central AL. Got home from church and wife fired up the cub. It's our 15 year old son's tractor but he was watching Nascar. Old mower cuts good!

My Uncle mowed with a cub like that. I thought it would be great to mow with until I ran it one time. LOL The house we had at that time had steep sloop in the back yard. His cub would barely pull itself up the grade let along mow very tall grass while doing it. I mowed the yard one time. I took it back to him and Thanks him for the use/tryout. I was really glad I tried his before I bought one of those under powered things.

Later my second wife's father had a cub he cultivated with. One time when we where there for a week or so I offered to help cultivate for him. I set the cultivators to a depth like I was used to with the tractors we cultivated with. The cub would not push them at that depth. The back wheels would spin/slip. They were even loaded with weights. He later traded it in a got an IH 140. Now that tractor would run with the cultivators. Nice machine for one row work.

Grand Pa love. Does your wife do ALL the work???? I just see pictures of her going at it. LOL Just had to jerk your chain.

seller, I bought one with a belly mower. side mower, and plow. I never used the sickle side mower but the belly mower would not cut as good as a 8 horse power Snapper mower. the plow worked well, in fact better than I expected. I sold it for about a thousand dollars and had almost three times that in it.

We're a while away from lawn mowing here, but can't wait to get my Cub out--I enjoy mowing with it as well. Can never understand the haters on mowing with Cubs--mine's mowed the grass on my 3 acres for around 15 years now with a 59" finish mower, and so have thousands upon thousands of other Cubs, many of which are STILL mowing over 70 years after the first one was produced. Second gear on the flats and first on the hills, and other than a couple spots around the septic where it grow a foot high before the rest needs mowing at all you can leave the mower fully down the whole time and take a full cut.

Nice little tractor, I?ve always wanted one, used to have a Farmall A with bellymower but it was too high for mowing under tree limbs at the time I owned it and traded it away

Window, yours looks to be a cub lo boy. I'll find one of those one day.
My '48 cub pushed snow, mowed ~4 acres of grass, planted the gardens,
everything I ever asked of it, which was more than it should have done.

I even built a shop built "3 pt hitch" system for the back which
would lift the front wheels off the ground when you asked it to.

I had a 5 foot belly mower. It struggled with it when the compression got low.
It's pretty amazing how much those little flat head engines will do for their size.
Now it has been relegated to trailer queen duty. Shows and parades.
