What Gives? Nice 770 Oliver industrial sells on polk sale last year for 6000 plus tractor returns and sells for 3300 yesterday

Maybe the tractors original owner on the first sale was trying to bid it up and ended up buying it back.

or like an earlier post, around here old tractors are down quit a bit from 2 or 3 years ago.

Collectors are backing away from the more common tractors. $3,300 is still a high price. If it was purchased to be a working tractor it would probably sell for 1/2 to maybe 2/3 that amount tops.

Sounds like two guys ran it up last year hoping some sucker would jump in and make a bid,didn't work brought it back this year and sold it.

or.................if there were bidders at this years auction and they recognized the tractor as selling there last year.........
word got around and tainted the sale this year.
Paranoia set in with most thinking there was something big wrong with it.

Owner should have trucked it out of the area to another sale.

Saw a nicely restored IH 666 hydro sell at an estate auction. Couple/3 years later the buyer was near the end with cancer. He auctioned off his collection. That 666 brought a full 3 K less than what he paid for it. Fist time it sold was right before the market started to drop and I mean just by a month or 2.
