Don't be tempted run as far as you can from them. I have had a run of bad ones come into the shop they have Interstate battery stickers on them even Interstate won't warranty them... I have yet to see Costco warranty one either...

Interesting,
I've had good luck with Costco batteries in my pick
up, my wife's Journey a couple of tractors and my
hitachi excavator.
I've also never had a problem taking anything back
to Costco. They can search your purchase history
and find when you bought anything almost.
Now I don't know if the ones up here were Interstate
brand though... everything is labeled Kirkland up
here.

I have a Kirkland battery in my old convertible that will be 16 this June, still starts it fine.I've never had a battery last near that long. The closest was 11 years in my dodge truck. They were original Mopar batteries.

I have had fairly good luck with their batteries. I had a battery fail after two years this month. I took it in, and no questions asked I got a new one with another 3 year warranty. Stan

I have several cars/trucks with Costco batteries in them and they have served me well. Would definitely buy them again.

I've had real good luck with the batteries I've bought from Costco. None of my current vehicles have a Costco. They had something else when I bought them and are still good. I did buy a Costco for my sis in law last summer for her 2010 Impala. $50 cheaper than local auto parts store...

Costco may have purchased them from Johnson Controls or Deka or elsewhere, you must have got a bad unlucky batch grrrrrrrrr. I've never tried to get warranty service from Costco but always had good luck at Sams or Walmart when making returns.

I have been rather biased in my choice of automotive batteries. I have had good luck with AC Delco and Interstate. I have had poor luck with Exide, Motorcraft, and Cenex batteries. I have read there are only 3 or 4 manufacturers of automotive type batteries in this country and their products are out there with numerous names on the side and tops of their batteries. I am not sure, but I believe 3 of them are Exide Technologies, Johnson Controls, possibly East Penn, and Optima. I have bought batteries from suppliers who tend to be biased towards a particular brand, too. I can say their opinions swayed my purchase decisions and I have not had a disappointment in going with their choices. I am about to replace the batteries in 3 vehicles in the near term, with the age of these batteries ranging from 8 years to perhaps 14 years. I have had vehicles where I have replaced the battery twice in my tenure of ownership, but I also keep my vehicles a long time, too. An interesting note I want to share, is that I have had longer life in automotive batteries in the cars and trucks I have owned when I have used synthetic oil rather than conventional oil. I actually had a car I purchased as a 4 year old certified used car. I drove it for 8 years and never had to replace the battery in the car in the time I had it. It also appeared to have the original Motorcraft battery. What might support why I have had better luck with certain brands versus others can possibly be attributed back to the manufacturer of the battery itself. I am going to provide a link to something I found on-line which might help us all grasp hold of why some brands might be better versus others, as well as some other possible information. I will close with one last comment, though. I have had the best luck when I purchased the largest (cold cranking amps) batteries with the longest warranty (60 months or more). Below is the link, which I think was rather eye opening.............at least for me.

I'll add to this a bit. I've never had an issue with a battery with the exception of one, a NEVERstart purchased at Walmart at 2:30AM when one was desperately needed and nothing else was available. Only Walmart battery I ever bought. But other store brands, COOP (years ago), CENEX, NAPA, Interstate and more never a problem. But I've always purchased top of the line batteries, not the cheapest one I could find. And that may be the key.

(quoted from post at 05:42:20 03/16/18) Hobo ..... not much support so far for your post. Maybe you're a bad-luck guy for Costco batteries.

Or interstate batteries?

Rick

They have interstate stickers on them but not a standard interstate battery. They are some off the wall cheap arse garbage that interstate wants nuttin to do with (it makes me wonder why they would put there sticker on that garbage)... You are not getting a quality battery from Costco and one that may haunt you...

Its great most have had good luck with them If you do have a electrical, starting charging system, transmission issues are a computer issue I would suggest you have that garbage Costco bat load tested a true load test it may be your problem...

I have yet to see one pass a true load test the oldest one I have tested was 27 mo old... When I say fail they fail in the first 5 sec of a load test and have no problem pulling down to the 8V range...

I know that don't mean much to most but it does to your computerized engine control system that will go to sleep are reset are go into limp in mode when battery voltage falls under 9V...

In this day of good, better and best there is a BIG difference between good and best when it comes to battery's no matter who makes them....

while we are on batteries what happened to guy ( I think is name was George) He would post the specs for ever battery and carry his checker in when he went in to buy a new one. He really kept us informed on batteries, miss his post. O we are 150 miles from the nearest cosco so we run Rural King (Exie) cheap os and return them when they go bad no questions asked.
