I saw all the replys about Cleary pole barns,,looked good.So I looked up Cleary.I filled out a questioneer about the size and use etc. They were to send info.,it was pretty simple and organized well.so I filled it out. This morning at eight am I got a call from a guy in Floorida,I didnt catch the name ,,but he says you called about a steel building/i said,no I called about a pole barn,He says what if I can sell you an all steel building?I said to you install them?He says no,we only sell kits.He said Ill send you info in the mail.I never called or asked about any such thing, but he got the info somehow.

Must be the sold your name and contact info, kind of like when you order from one garden seed place then get catalogs from 10 other seed companies.

Last August I bought a rural home in Wisconsin and needed to get a pole building built for storage (36X64). Cleary has an office approximately 10 miles away. I went to the office and talked to the lady there and she said the sales person for my area was on vacation that week. I told her I was only there for two days during that week. She gave me the managers card and said to call him. I did call and left a message stating I needed a price and time line for building. No return call that day so called again the next morning left a message, still no return call. In the mean time I called Northland Buildings and the office lady said the sales person is on the road but she will get a hold of him. 5 minutes later the phone rings and the salesman says when do you want me there to look. I said how about tomorrow he said okay, between 2 and 2:30. He was on time, I told him what I wanted, he gave the price and said it would be a winter build if that's okay or could schedule it for Spring. I went with the winter build. It's up and looks beautiful. Never heard from Cleary.
I do have two Northland buildings in Minnesota, but I was dealing with different people in Wisconsin.

That's like about 20 years ago I cut out of a farm publication about info on a steel bldg. I got bombarded with sales pitches from it seemed like 3 or 4 companies. Finally told one pesky salesman that I had just bought a pole building and like right now all sales pitches stopped.

I don't like to bad mouth anybody or their work. However I have a neighbor that had one built and when all was said and done there were no doors or concrete floor in it(could have been in the fine print). He asked me to install a couple of walk doors for him. While I was in there I looked at the trusses and they seemed light weight to me. Since I worked at a truss plant and did truss designing for a living I input the truss into our truss software and I could not make it work. The lumber grades, sizes, web patterns, plates etc. were all over stressed according to our software. NOW maybe our software was just more conservative, possibly? They had stamped engineered drawings and all but, they just seemed light. It is 13 years later and no problems so far but we haven't had a real snowfall year for a lot of years here. Just be careful could be totally fine.
