Moving About In The Snow

A nice sunny morning last week when I was out moving around the yard with the Massey Super 90. Some impressive snow trenches after I'd done
a bit of clearing with the blade the day before. Still had a lot more to do that has since been done.

There is a large part of the world that will never appreciate the smell of diesel smoke and the snap of the environment while doing morning chores on a sub-zero morning. I say snap because sometimes its the cold snow under the boot and sometimes it's the shear pin on the spreader beater.

Why are you buildings so spread out? Must have planned on having a place to push the snow.

I never really considered the buildings spread out. It is fairly typical here. And a good thing too. As trucks and machinery grow ever bigger it takes a lot of room to turn around. Sure is nice to have room to do that.

WOW rusty you got a lot more snow than we did, looks like winter has still got a hard grip on your area. has been melting here the last couple of days, starting to get sloppy. i'll see if I can send this your way :lol:

It has warmed up considerably this week with daytime highs near the freezing mark. Melting in the sun. Wherever I pushed the snow away it has now melted down to grass. A slow melt is what we need to take advantage of the limited moisture we got. And believe me, this is still a below normal snowfall winter for us. Aerial shot from last week. The sunset shadows show some of the rolling surface of the land here. Its not flat.

You can have it all,we had 2 inches Sunday morning. It was all gone by supper time. I think out total for the year is maybe 5 inches, and most of that was 1/4 at a time.

Its so scenic though. Don 't you wish you had scenery like this all winter? Just a little sarcasm here but I don't mind winter all that much.
