It is the same 3 cylinder perkins engine that was in the 160's, in fact they are identical tractors
for the most part, but a lot more 160's were built. You can get a starter on ebay and elsewhere,
search by the perkins engine, not the tractor. I have a late model 160 with the 2.5 liter engine
which is the same engine your tractor should have, I bought a starter off ebay for around $130.00 a
year or so ago. The same starter I bought is on the link below, if you are not sure it is the right
starter contact the sellers because they specialize in starters and can tell you what you need.

you've probably already checked but sometimes taking the starter out and cleaning the bell housing and starter mount and clean all the wire terminals can make a BIG difference in how is starts. been there/done that. Especially if it sits outside much.

a good starter/generator shop could probably get it going pretty quick and you'd know what you have. could be dirty commutator or worn or stuck brushes. could be a bad solenoid not getting good/full contact needed to spin the starter too. a few lower cost/easy fix items to check before spending big $ on a new starter.
