Some old cars

Been driving by this place for years and years. Probably 6 or 7 years ago it forclosed and the house that use to be there was torn down. This week someone pulled these old cars out of the barn. To Oldsmobiles and 2 Buicks. One is a 1938 Buick special with a straight 8. I left my name and number... We'll see what happens. Wouldn't mind having the 442 and the 1938 if they're willing to sell them for a reasonable price.

The 442 would be my pick also. Had a few different ones over the years. Bet that the rest of the car is still in the barn.

The blue one is a Buick something a rather,
nice original looking V8 with good
interior, but very rusted around the
fenders and doors. The redish one is a
Oldsmobile 88(I think?) Convertible with a
perfect looking interior but pretty rusty
body as well. All the cars have motors look
all there except the doors for the 442

That's what I'm hoping. Looks like it has a possibly rebuilt Motor, edlebrock heads and intake, plate over the carb mount, etc. All the cars definitely show signs of being worked on but are all still very original

The '38 looks like a senior series, maybe a Roadmaster. The blue Buick with the white vinyl top is a '62 Wildcat. The '64 Olds convertible looks like a Starfire. These cars are rusty, rusty, rusty. Parts cars at best.

The 64 Oldsmobile is not a Starfire, probably a dynamic 88.

I've always thought that the 62 Starfire was a beautiful car.

My Father had a 58 Oldsmobile 98 with 371 J2 tripower engine, 4 speed hydramatic and all options. It was a great car for someone just turning 16.

50 years ago I wanted a 4-4-2. Even took one on a test drive, but couldn't afford it.

50 years later, I'm thinkin' that '38 Buick is more to my liking.

Pick any one you want and get to work if you want. Chances are that you'll find out eventually that if you wanted a good driving collector car, you might have been better off financially to save your money and buy one already finished up, or one much closer to driving condition than those in the photos are. Yes I know, you wouldn't have as much fun or as much experience, etc etc etc. But you'd likely be dollars ahead and have a lot more time on your hands to enjoy your new ride.

I've messed with some before, I don't make them pretty, just structurally sound and safe, and have fun with the drive.

If I were going for show quality, probably would be cheaper to save as having a good paint job done seems to be in the 5-8k range these days.

Under 2k for me. They may or may not be worth more then that, but the thrill isn't worth the big bucks to me as it is to some, lol

I enjoy seeing the cars like the blue convertible ('62 Buick?) at the occasional car show. They look really sharp fixed up, and are often overlooked since most people go for the big-name muscle cars. Another favourite of mine is the Ford Galaxy convertible, getting harder to find.
