Broke the fitting hydraulic Cylinder

Just cleaning up flood trash and brush in the pasture , i had placed some 8ft long arm thick timber across the tipping cylinders on the bucket . took off to the ditch ,tipped the bucket back, and up Jumptthe Devil ,. One broken thumb of one of the Limb , must have pushed hard on the hose fitting for the tipping cylinder and broke it off!, just like tha! .. looks like a pressed in fitting that will not allow threading out with a easy out ,,. UH UH , TIGHT.. Koyker wants 350 for another 2 inch cylinder .. i am not ready to do that .. I wonder if any of you can Tell me how to Fix it Without admonishing Me,. Believe me i have already kikt myazall the way into next week for needless unnecessary costly repairs

That shouldn't be too hard to fix.

Are you sure it doesn't screw out?

Can the cylinder be disassembled? If so it could be drilled and taped, or a threaded fitting welded in place over it.

If you are not comfortable fixing it, try a hydraulic shop. They should be able to repair it or make a suggestion.

I have never seen any hyd cylinder that did not have screw in fittings. I can see no way they could be press fit because of the hyd pressure used in hyd systems

My local hydraulic shop owner would fix that on his coffee break. I'll bet that you have a good shop not too far away.

I bet it screws out. Look closer at the other cylinder to see how it's made.

I have removed several broken fittings from cylinders. I don't waste time looking for easy outs. I go straight to my drawer full of key stock. I find a chunk of stock that is too large to fit into the broken fitting. I grind a taper on the key stock. Then use my crescent wrench and screw the fitting right out. I have not found a broken fitting yet that I couldn't remove with this method.

Thanx Guys ,.,. I Agree it ought to thread Out,..i am Going To take it over to a pals shop in the morning ,we will get it out,.You guys on This Forum are the Best ,,. and not one of you ragged me about using my loader improperly and being negligent .. Yet .., LOL

A lot of times an EZ out will remove a fitting like that. Just lightly tap the EZ out into the broken fitting and turn it out.

Well ya but that is true with most cylinders the pipe tread part is a weld on fitting

Your thinking of the port. A bobcat cylinder has the whole fitting welded on, usually a straight or 90degree JIC or Boss oring. If it breaks off you either weld on a new one, replace barrel, or drill and tap for a replaceable fitting.
