Every Tuesday morning I go drink coffee and fellowship(bullshi'p'LOL) with the 'old guys' at the church. No praying, bible studying or 'churchy stuff'. From 9 to 10.Probably the most rewarding hour of my entire week.I 'make time' for that, even when I'm too busy and don't have the 'time'. These guys are mostly in their 70 and 80s.Love the stories. The old guys, too.Btw,I seem to be the 'resident' farm and tractor consultant/expert(?). LOL

There is a group of older gents in the local Cassey's around here.. Everyday mon-fri from 7:30 - 9:30..rain, snow or shine.. LOL I know one of the gents really well and yes the gamit of conversations varies..and if you want to know something they will know..who died, whats that building going up, who left who, who's selling what..

better then the local paper..

There is a garage near me that the owner shut the repair business down when he retired but still goes over ever day and and a bunch of guys show up and they talk and whatever real popular in Winter because he has a wood stove.I go over on rainy days to catch up on the local news, who's having wife problems and what's new.

Group of 3 to 7 or so, every morning at 7 AM, local Burger King. Been doing it for 20 years of so. Moved over from McDonalds after McD remodeled and put in a stupid electronic kiosk to order from- it takes 15 keystrokes to get a senior black coffee. "We don't do kiosks", said we, and emigrated to Burger King. All the restaurants open at that time around here are pushing 3 bucks for a cup of coffee, BK is 53 cents.

We do the same thing but a coupla times a month usually on Wednesdays. Tomorrow, in Brighton, MI at 9 AM we'll get together again. 2 weeks ago we had 11 guys, and a great discussion...

We meet on the first Saturday of the month at 7am to 8am at our church. We do every Saturday during lent. Men's fellowship with the deacon and free coffee and donut holes. I too am the closes thing they got to a real farmer so I just try to play the part and talk the talk. Exactly 8 am he wraps it up and we are out the door to start our day.

There is a group of people that meets at MacD's most mornings. We tell stories and lies, have fun and amuse the rest of the patrons!!
Since I retired 4 1/2 years ago, I have found this group to be one of the most important things in my life!!
If someone is missing more than 2 days, everyone asks where he/she is. If no one knows, the missing person
gets a phone call!! Don't get much better than that!! If someone needs help (garden tilling, putting on snow blower,
mowing, etc, etc), someone steps up to help!!
We've been trying to get MacD's to pay us for our entertainment, but no go so far. They're going to remodel the place
and we want them to put in a special table for us. that's not working yet either!!
