Front Snowplow build- need some ideas/advice

Ok, now that snow season is almost over, I have decided I want to improve my methods a little for next year.

I do 95% of my snow work with an 8' back blade on a MF 165 gasser. I have a big snowblower behind a 100hp cabbed Landini but, for the
most part, I like my gasser in the winter.

I think I could save quite a bit of time if I had a front blade to use once I drag my piles to the road. Rather than pulling back into my driveway,
turning around and pushing it backward into the ditch, It would be a lot easier to just back up, drop the front blade and push. Well, easiest
would be to just have a full-on front blade setup with hydrualic angle and down pressure.

The tractor has the subframe from a loader still attached (holds up a homemade 4 post ROPS). I have a couple of larger, old plow blades
sitting in the barn and tons of scrap steel. I also, may, have a front plow frame from a Minnie moe sitting in the weeds, but not sure if it still
exists.

The tractor has a single set of remotes. So, easiest setup would be mount the front blade with a single cylinder for up/down and just use that to
push accross the road.

Here is my main questions;
1. Can I take my single set of remotes and run them to multiple cylinders - some sort of multi-port valve?
2. Now that snow season is over, could I buy parts off of a pickup truck setup which uses elec over hyd to run a Fischer or Boss
pump/cylinders for up/down and angle.

Does anyone have an recommendations for how to proceed/what to look for? Or does anyone have pics of their setup?

I want to be in as cheaply as possible...I don't want to spend much money to fix a system that is not broken.

Thanks in advance

Being able to angle the front blade will make it a lot handier. The one I built many years ago was manually angled using a center pivot point on the back of the blade with adjustable push arms on each side. You could use hydraulic cylinders to do the same thing. A cheap way to double the outlet would be buying a manual splitting valve. I bought one last year for about a $100.00. More convenient, but more expensive are the splitters that use electric solenoids. I found that I didn't change the angle of the blade that often when moving snow. Whatever you decide, a front blade is far better than one on the back.

Buy an old 4X4 pickup and put a power angle blade on the front.

I have a blade on a '78 Chevy K1500, haven't even put plates or insurance on it in years. I just use it off road around my acreage for plowing snow, deer hunting, and other dirty work I don't want to inflict on my other pickup.

It's a heck of a lot faster, warmer, and more comfortable than sitting on a tractor. I have a front mounted Vee plow for the front of one of my H Farmalls, but I haven't used it in years.

This is what I do also, and would never want to go back to a tractor. It actually makes it a pleasant job to have the heater and radio going on a cold snowy day. Mine is a 1985 GMC that isn't licensed for the road anymore, just plows snow. If you are handy, you can pick up a retired snow plow truck that needs some work pretty cheap. It is likely going to be rusty and beat up if you get it cheap but who cares. Not to mention it is a lot faster than a tractor.

I mounted a Meyer snowplow for a pickup on my Allis Chalmers 5040. Angle iron framework mounted below tractor to the front end loader frame. Uses the live hydraulics at rear of tractor to run a one-way cylinder. Adjusts angle manually.

I put a couple of Channels from the clutch housing down in front of the front axle, with holes to mount an old pickup blade to.With a pair of bars in an X to keep the side strain from shifting it. then with an eye welded into an angle iron, bolted to the front casting to lift it pulling endways on the chain.
This is on an 806.

You can add a double valve off your remotes to do both angle and lift for just the cost of the valve. Should be able to get a double valve for less than $200.

Loren..I may have to take you up on that once the weather gets nice...maybe this summer after school lets out for the summer.
Would be curious to check out the snow plow setup and your various tools.
Will be in touch,...
Thanks

Is "manual splitting valve" what I want to google search, or is there another term I should look up.

Sometimes the battle is just knowing what I am looking for.

Go to the local snow plow shop buy a blade and electric over hydraulic pump weld up a frame to fit it on the front of your tractor and be done. I did it two times now and had way less money and hassle/complexity than using the hydraulic off the machine. Power angle and raised blade it's fast and does what it was built for.
