I amlooking into buying a basket case model a and was told everything is there just needs put back together. Never had one of these and I do not know what a fair price would be to offer. The help would be greatly appreciated and any information for a beginner.

Being a beginner just remember you will have more in it when you get finished than it is ever worth. If you enjoy working on old tractors, need the experience , and just plain lit the rest of us want something to do make an offer just more than scrap prices. The thing that really makes a difference is how are the tires. If you have to buy tires just kills the deal.

Thank you and tires are in great shape no weather cracks or anything been in storage the past few years. Also are parts hard to find?

I think you can still get engine parts thru NAPA and maybe clutch parts but something like the steering box or something common to that tractor would be hard, no Avery Dealers. Lots of them around for junk so you should be OK. Seems they had a small aluminum box on the right side that had the hydraulic valve, most all I ever looked at leaked there.

FYI for you. Where are you located? One of the better know Avery collectors passed away last fall and he has many part on an auction as well ason line bidding on his tractors next month. My e-mail is open. J.

I have a few parts from a B F Moline if you need anything, but fact is, those old tractors do not bring much, don't spend much. 3 or 4 hundred for one that is in parts would be enough.
