These are in the big fancy home I've been
working in on and off this winter. The new
lights came in so I was out to install them.
The first one is solid brass so I had to wear
gloves to keep from leaving finger prints. It
hangs over the dining room table.
The second one is stainless and hangs over the
breakfast nook in the kitchen.
The round one is 42" in diameter and hangs in
the vaulted foyer - also brass so must wear
gloves. They all weigh about 80 lbs each.
I had to install blocking in the trusses up in
the attic to carry the weight.
The vaulted foyer is 16' up to the peak so I
had to scaffold up to hang it.
The last photo shows lifting the DR light up
with a sheetrock lift.
They had two electrical companies out there to
give bids to hang them. One quoted $3K the
other wouldnt do it.
I hired a laborer to help me. We got them up
for about $1.3K
It took a bit of thinking to get them hung.
Homeowner says there's a bonus for me for doing
it. I didn't want to know what they cost. Would
have made me more nervous than I was.
It was an interesting job.
