Tractors you have farmed with......

I may have forgotten a few with out going through my records. We do all our tractor repairs so dealer is not important.

My 17 year old grandson will be 5th generation. 1st generation was my grandfather who went broke in the 30ies and started again. I do not know what tractors he had.

Every tractor I farm with today is eligible for conversation on this site! I've only been "farming" for a few years and started with an MF135. I tilled about 2 acres and have used it for raking, disking, and even baling once when my neighbors bigger tractor wasn't working for us. Then I purchased a IH240 and that's my bush hog tractor. Next I got my Farmall 460 which I've been using for haying small bales and planting a neighbors food plot. Last fall I got my "new" tractor, the Case 1494. Once I get the PTO issues sorted out I expect it to be a great hay tractor as well (with a cab and working AC!)

Next tractor I'd like to be a IH 966 or 986 for doing round bales. I'd like to get a nice Farmall 240 for parade type use as well. I like that style and it's a small footprint. Mine IH 240 is a little worn...

Grew up with an 8N, left the farm to find work. Came back to WV in 74, worked with Dad and his JD830, started my own beef operation and needed a cheapie, so bought a TO 20. About got killed on it running an Int 45 baler on a hillside, so bought an ACWD45 which was a good tractor. Got tired of 15 gallons gas per day at 4 dollars a gallon. Bought a Massey 165 crop, best tractor I ever used. Had it 10 or so years, retired, swapped it off. Biggest mistake I ever made. Now have gas MF 50 just to keep brush hogged down and dig post holes. If I can make a post driver work, I will be driving instead of digging!

that all masseys ,fords and david browns kept a fella warm to cooking in the
summer , the 10 -20 series deere are idiot proof.,,../pliver and molenesmust
have engineers that were either related to case engineers or were schooled by
the same teacher ,,.. LOL //Best All around Tractor for Me is the 430 Case
Diesel,..with honorable mention goes to Dads 51 DC that i started discing with
when i was 13,. kinda small , i was,the hand clutch lever was engaged with my
foot, because if i slipped that ol gent into gear by hand and didnt get a firm
snap,it mite pop out and bang my knee a goodone

I’ve Farmed 44 years. First field tractor was a 1070 Case in 1974, traded it for a 1086 IH, still have it. Bought a 4650 Deere 7 years ago and still have it. That’s it, three field tractors in 44 years. I farm 700 acres. 1086 has 17000 hours, 4650 has 11000 but I bought it with 10000 hours. I just keep ‘em running. For the past three years I have rented a bigger tractor to pull the field cultivator for 25 hours, it takes the stress off of the ‘senior citizen’ tractors.

well I am 5th generation on the farm, and have two more generations coming up. the tractors I used when I was a kid until I took over the farms. mf 135,175,65 and 35, farmall h, ford 4000, case vac.
