After changing the clock I seam to be doing ok so far. After reading the posts of last 3 days I thought the whole world would come to an end.

You'd have thought it was Y2K all over again wouldn't you?

I heard something this morning that I didn't know though. They said a state could opt out of DST and stay on standard time year around, but they couldn't opt out of standard time and stay on DST year around unless the US Congress approved it,so essentially, since they don't ever do anything, they can't.

Here, 9:30 Mass was actually a little above normal. Just about any other year you see a 25-30 percent drop off when the clock goes ahead. Myself, I'm a little sluggish this morning but brunch will fix me up here in a few minutes.

Getting up an hour early on the Saturday before the clocks get turned ahead helps me get used to the time change a little easier.

Arizona never changes. I woke up this morning and didn't even realize anything was different until I started reading this.

I'm curious about something. What does that do to your TV schedule as far as network TV is concerned? Are the shows on an hour later or something while the rest of the country is on DST? Just curious how that works. Didn't know if local stations had some way of showing them at a different time separate of the network or not.

At 2AM eastern they change their listings. That is the official time when savings kicks in and the other continental zones just do it.

I work swing shift so by the tine I get home and to sleep.. I slept till NOON time. Lucky the change over is always on a Saturday/Sunday night.

Steers and cows did not seem to mind getting fed an hour later by the clock. LOL I was starting feeding art 5:30 AM and now just feed them at 6:30 AM. Everything seems the same to me. LOL.

I like the extra hour in the evening. I spend more time with the Grand Kids after supper now. I do not care what others say you will not spend much time with teenagers before school.

But,if a network show is on at 8pm standard time,is it still on at 8pm in Arizona when the rest of the country is on DST or is it on at 9 for seven months?

Yah, now I can bet on sporting events in Las Vegas and know the score ahead of time ...... I just have to figure out when to do it, in the fall or in the spring. Anybody help me out there?

It is now the NEW 2PM in the afternoon and I just finished adjusting all of the clocks. Fheewww. Oh wait still need to do the video machine, oh and the truck radio. And my digital camera, crud.

I am with JD, I like coming home and have daylight to do the yard work or go see one of the grand kids ball game.

Before Indiana started dst a few years back the Louisville channels would be on an hour later.

I have a sister that is a nurse on the 3rd shift at a hospital when the time change occurs. We didn't used to change time in Indiana, but now do. I wonder what happens to her and the rest of her shift. One time of the year they spring forward and work an hour less because they are replaced by the 1st shift at their new scheduled time, but then another time they actually work an hour more because the time change simply deletes an hour worked because the 1st shift then shows up at their newly adjusted time schedule. When it was Indiana changing it's, OUR times one of my county councilman whom has a realty business in Michigan had our then governor's ear and actually traveled the state twisting the ears of legislators to get them to go for DST. In reality, he wanted Indiana to be on the same time as Michigan all year as opposed to only half a year so that he would be on the same time with his realty business all year. If I ever see that guy, ever get within arms reach of that guy, whether he's wearing his glasses or not...

orked shift work at the mine for a few years alternating shift work. When you worked the graveyard shift at time change, in the spring you got seven hours pay and in the fall you got nine hours pay.

Around here dairy farmers milked and fed on EST.They didn't care if it was DST or not.
