Some 500 progress

Been making some progress on the orchard fenders on the Oliver 500. The right one was good, but the left one was a cracked, busted up mess with the skirt missing. I've got it straightened up,welded the cracks, squared up the half dozen places where there were pieces missing around the outer lip of it and pieced them back in and made a new skirt for it.
It's getting there.

I wish I was closer so I could help. But then again there is the saying about too many cooks. I really need a similar project to keep the mind stimulated as well as pass the time.

Randy I am glad to see you are able to get something like that done. with our weather , the mud , and my body wearing out I am barely able to keep my head above water. Looks like you are doing an awesome job as usual.

Thanks a lot Lee. I'm so glad we finally got a few days of decent weather so I could get out there and do something on it. I've got cabin fever so bad that Kim's ready to lock me out of the house whether I want to be out there or not. Spring can't come soon enough for either one of us. lol

I'd like to load it up and take it down to my cousin's when I get it done and get some pictures of it in his orchard when the trees are in bloom. I can only imagine how sharp that Meadow Green and Clover White paint would look sitting among all the apple blossoms.

Looking good! Did you grab that 550 in Ionia?
I tried, but they never returned my call and the ad is gone.

They don't have a flower when I get done with them. I paint them black and put an Oliver decal on them. lol

No. I hadn't searched Oliver on CL in a week or more now. How cheap was it? You can tell me,I can take it. lol

$2000 OBO, nice paint, supposedly ran good, decent tires.
Superior trip bucket loader. Ad said no power steering?
Anyway, they had four Ollies for sale. RC 77, S77 and an 880
with a pretty nice Dual loader (bad bull gear). The two 77's
had engine mods for pulling and were partially assembled.
Make an offer on one or all.

That's looking nice Randy! Keep the pictures coming. What are those stains underneath it? Looks like oil all over.

Randy, checked that seat for ya, and it is not quite right. Getting more work done than me. Every time I turn around my projects need more parts.

Great job! my brother-in-law also rebuilds tractors, and he is very good at it, in Greece it doesn't bring him decent money, but I am pretty sure in England it would work just great. In fact we wanna kind of change places: I want to buy a house in Greece and live there, my sister and her husband want to move to Scotland to be closer to our parents. Hopefully brother-in-law won't give up on this hobby there.

There's a small parts yard close to home here. In one of the pictures on CL,it looks like he has one that's the right style. I can make the mounts if I have to.

good morning rrlund, awesome job restoring the old fender top, a question for you, on the top original photo I see creases in the top of the fender, how did you get those out, 2nd photo looks like it never happened? my mm m-5 has some crease dings like that on the left side and when I get it in the shop i'll be pulling the fenders off for repairs and paint. of course I could just put them on a pallet and ship them down to you

Not sure what you're seeing. That strap iron that's welded across it or the small ding above it? I've got a set of body tools, the blocks and hammers. I'm getting so I can take a dent out in pretty good shape with them.
I just torched that strap of and welded the cracks back in where that had been. I've got some thinner strap iron that I'll use to remake those a little shorter and less obvious.
