I need infro on putting a optional 1000 rpm shaft in a 4010 jd?

Most likely all you need is the 1,000 RPM stub shaft, it will have a hollow spot in the middle of the back side to let the drive shift to 1000 position, you can actually drill the center of a 540 shaft to make this happen too,,but you would have the 540 spline..

no this is a 1000 rpm only a one piece shaft I need infro on taken out and splitting tractor all the books I see is on the 540 /1000 shaft

540 is 6 spline, 1000 is lots....don't remember the number to assist one in not mixing the drives for 540 limited implements. Don't know
how you could drive both with the same shaft. I had the stub shaft substitute function on either my 4010 or 20, forget which.....stored on
the tractor in a clip to keep it handy, OEM design. No biggie to change out in the field.

My current Branson 6530 has an electronic Ind. PTO with a 3 position selector whereby I can spin my 6 spline 540 shaft at 540, 960, or
half way between, but it's a 2007 model........things have changed.
