I really hate phones, my wife before we were married got in the habit of talking to me on the phone for 'a while' and getting out her frustrations of work.

She never really understood how much I hate phones, and that I'm about speechless on one.

Became a rather one sided relationship there for a while, glad it got sorted out before we went our seoerate ways.

I'd call, and listen for an hour, and then hear well it's getting late, bye I guess.....

Too funny, looking back.

Paul

When I was in the Army in Okinawa in 1971 there was no Skype or cell phones or any of that. Phone calls had to go through the Overseas Operator. I called my folks and reversed the charges back to them. That same week I called my girlfriend (now my wife) and also reversed those charges back to my folks. My Dad about had a stroke when he got that bill! The first call was $92.00 and the second one was $104.00!

I did reimburse them for the amount.

I have to fess up, a loooong time ago when my my soon to be fiancé was 6 hours away at college, I had one phone call that was 42 dollars by itself. That's when phones were still screwed to the wall and there was no unlimited anything. I ain't gonna tell you what the entire bill was, but she was worth it.

I would take the phone call over 3-5 hours of your mother in law at your house at least 3 days a week. That might be my punishment for farming though

Everyone complains about their mother-in-law.

For the record, my late mother-in-law and I got along great. I'm 6 years older than my wife, and my MIL was less than 20 years older than me.
