Can anyone point me in the right direction on where to find some freaking cam bearings for this TMD20 Engine???????
I can find anyone that carries them.

newbie if it's a tmd-20 that's a continental diesel, up here the go to guy is continental engines in Edmonton alberta ca. their # is 780-426-3890, when you call ask for Harold (owner) very knowledgble folks, if he doen't have it he'll know where to get it. john.

yea its the tmd-20 3 cyl diesel. I've looked all over the interweb for the dang things and can't find them. Ill give your guy a call after i get out of school. Thanks for the reply.

None available, because none are used. Cam rides directly in the block cam bores. No bearings shown in the Case engine parts list, and the TMD20 block I have apart has no cam bearings either.

Must have been a machine shop repair at some time. Case 1835C parts list shows none used on both gas and diesel blocks. I have an engine from a Miller welder in my loader, original block is apart in the shop. No cam bearings at all in the block I have. Might look on the OD of the old bearing you have and see if there are any numbers on it, maybe you can see what was used and find a replacement that way.

Well crap!
Ive called a couple case dealers and they say the same Dieseltech. It blew their minds to. I agree 100% that it must have been a fix from previous years. I appreciate it.

Hey Dieseltech. Would you have a cheapee place to buy the rear seal and head gasket set for the tmd20?
Cheapest rear seal I have found is 140+ and cheapest head gasket set ive found is 165 bucks.

No sir, parts for that engine might be made of gold. That's why I replaced the engine in my loader with a good running one from a welder. To rebuild mine at the time was about a grand just for parts..

The 4bt 3.9 4 cylinder Cummins also uses no cam bearings. Cam rides directly on cast iron block. The 4bt is the 4cyl version of the 12 valve 6cyl Cummins engine used in early Dodge diesels. I can?t tell you if the 6cyl version had none as well. If they did not there is sure a lot of them running around so it must have been a reliable design. Both the 4 & 6cyl. versions were used in industrial equipment and tractors. Many 4cyl in Case skid steers.
